The Minister of State, Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Laurent ESSO, received for the first time, on August 11, 2022, the new Executive of the Bar Association elected on June 20, 2022. The audience, which took place in the main room of the Chancellery, allowed Me MBAH Eric MBAH to outline his action plan in a friendly atmosphere.
For the occasion, the Keeper of the Seals was surrounded by an array of personalities including the Minister Delegate, Jean de Dieu MOMO, the Secretary of State in charge of the Penitentiary Administration, DOOH Jerome PENBAGA, the Director of the Judicial Professions, the Deputy Director of the Bar and the President of the Court of Appeal of the Center.
On the side of the Bar, one could find, besides the President of the Bar, Me MBAH Eric MBAH, the President of the General Assembly and the Vice-President of the General Assembly as well as the members of the Bar Council.
On this occasion, the Bar President presented to the Keeper of the Seals the main lines of his action plan which is based on discipline, with the cleaning up of the file of Lawyers; the relaunching, with the assistance of the Chancellery, of the examinations for admission to the Bar; the continuous training of Lawyers; the improvement of the conditions of exercise of the profession of Lawyer in Cameroon by the modification of the organic law; the fight against corruption in the judicial environment.
In return, the Minister of Justice addressed his warm congratulations to the new management team of the Bar and welcomed the initiative of the Bar President to hold this meeting which, according to him, allows to update the collaborative relations between the Bar and its supervision. As for the expectations of the Lawyers, the Minister of State Laurent ESSO promised his visitors that actions will be taken in order to find solutions to what still constitutes obstacles to the full development of the exercise of the profession of Lawyer in our country.
To continue, the Minister of State presented, with joy, his library to his visitors while inviting them to invest in the written production. It was then time for the host of the Bar to invite his guests to take part in the table that he had prepared for the occasion.
It is in this very friendly and fraternal atmosphere that the curtains fell on the very first visit of the era MBAH ERIC MBAH to His Excellency the Minister of State, Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 7:46 pm.
