The General Assembly that changed everything

In addition to the president and vice-president of the general assembly, this session allowed the democratic appointment of the 15 members of the Council and the election of Me MBAH Eric MBAH as head of the Bar.

The ordinary elective General Assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association, held at the Yaounde Sports Palace, from June 18 to June 20, 2022, made it possible to present the activity report of the Bar President and that of the Council, the report of the Treasurer of the Association.

The high point of this session was, first, the election of the President and the Vice-President of the General Assembly and, secondly, the long-awaited election of the members of the Bar Council and the Bar President. The works, which saw the participation of 2865 lawyers, i.e. 2/3 of the lawyers registered on the Roll of the Bar, were opened in the presence of a representative of the Minister of State, Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals.

After the constitution of the bureau of the General Assembly, composed of the oldest lawyer present, Me TEHGE HOTT Emmanuel, and the youngest, Me SOP WAMBO Jordan, the audience followed the activity report of the Order presented by the Bar President Me ATANGANA BIKOUNA Claire, as well as the financial report by Me AKUM Michael NCHE, the Treasurer of the Bar.

Thereafter, the electoral operations will consecrate the election of Kless Yves Patrick KOUAMOU and GBAKA Ernest ACHO respectively as President and Vice-President of the General Assembly.

The 15 members of the Council of the Order elected during this General Assembly in turn proceeded to the election of Me MBAH Eric MBAH as the Bar President who won with 1285 votes.
