At the invitation of the United States Embassy in Yaoundé, the Cameroon Bar Association, represented by the President of the Bar, Barrister Serges Martin Zangue (Bar Secretary), Barrister Adeline Fouegoum (Bar Treasurer), and Barrister Philippe Memong (Representative of the President of the Bar for the Centre, South and East Regions), together with several members of the legal profession, participated in the launch of the Founders Museum, an exhibition organized as part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America.
On this occasion, Barrister Serges Martin Zangue took part in a panel discussion on the values of democracy, governance and the rule of law. His intervention highlighted, in particular, the historical and contemporary role of lawyers in the protection of fundamental freedoms, the administration of justice and institutional development, as well as the contribution of distinguished members of the Cameroon Bar to the consolidation of the rule of law.
The event also provided an opportunity for meaningful exchanges between representatives of the Cameroon Bar Association, academics, historians and other invited guests on shared values of leadership, institutional excellence and good governance.
The Cameroon Bar Association expresses its appreciation to the United States Embassy for this initiative and welcomes the prospects for strengthened cooperation between the two institutions. This engagement marks an important step in further enhancing relations between the Cameroon Bar Association and the United States Embassy, with a shared commitment to developing future projects and initiatives aimed at promoting the rule of law, legal education and institutional capacity building.
