Advocates and pupil advocates of the Cameroon Bar are hereby informed that, on the initiative of the Bar President, a review has been undertaken of advocates’ communication in the media and on social networks, and a committee has been established for that purpose.
The Committee, chaired by Past Bâtonnier NGNIE KAMGA Jackson Francis, has submitted its report together with a Preliminary Draft Code of Conduct for Advocates in Relation to the Media and Social Networks.
The draft is intended to strengthen the professional and ethical framework governing advocates’ professional communications in the digital environment.
The draft was laid before the Bar Council at its session of Monday, 28 September 2026. Its consideration and adoption have been adjourned to the session of 16 November 2026.
Wishing to obtain the views of the members of the Bar before the final text is adopted, the Bar Council invites all fellow advocates to submit proposed amendments, observations or suggestions.
Contributions must reach the Secretariat of the Bar Council no later than Friday, 23 October 2026 at 5:30 p.m., through any of the following channels:
