IN YAOUNDE ON OCTOBER 11, 2022
For this meeting held at the Ministry of Justice, the Bar President was accompanied by the Bar Secretary, Me Anne Yolande NGO MINYOGOG, the Bar Treasurer Me Claude ASSIRA ENGOUTE, Me Philippe Olivier MEMONG and Maître TAMO, Members of the Bar Council.
For its part, the Ministry of Justice was represented by Mr. NForsam, Director of Judicial Professions, and three sub-directors.
From the outset, the Director of the judicial professions intended to set the framework of the meeting and explained that following a working session held at the Minrex, the Mindel prescribed a meeting of consultation in particular with the Bar to associate it with the installation of the texts carrying projects of cooperation received from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
By inviting the President of the Bar to this working session, the Director of the Judicial Professions requested that the Bar provide its observations on two important texts:
1. The partnership agreement between the Cameroon Bar Association and the Luxembourg Bar Association
2. The draft Agreement of legal cooperation between the Government of Cameroon and the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The Bar President appreciated the collaboration between the Chancellery and the Bar Association, especially since the texts in question have an impact on justice in general, and the exercise of the legal profession in particular.
However, he did not fail to point out that the documents, object of this meeting were only elaborated in French and wished that they be given to him in the English version allowing him to bring relevant observations.
It was agreed that within ten days of receiving the documents, the Order would submit its observations to the Minister of Justice during a consultation meeting to be convened by the Director.
